Ya’ll won’t believe this but earlier this week we had people over to sit on our porch. In the south they call this “porch sittin,” and it wasn’t much different than that, except instead of a communal case of PBR we had this: The Juliet and Romeo.
2 oz Gin
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.75 oz Simple Syrup
3 drops Rose Water
3 drops Angostura Bitters
3 slices Cucumber, peeled
1 sprig Mint
SaltThe Juliet and Romeo requires a dexterous bartender with at least an eighth-grade level of literary appreciation. Three drops of rose water sit romantically on the mint sprig and the red bitters are meant to symbolize lovers’ sacrificial blood (according to Dan).
This my girlfriend’s blog about moving to Indiana and into a bedroom with me. She never says “y’all” in real life, by the way.
