Post-Language Hall of Fame: Protein Spill
Dining with esteemed colleagues at a Thai buffet yesterday, the topic of family vacations to Florida’s Disney World came up. Label Assistant Kathy said when she visited as a girl, with all her excitement for the Magic Kingdom, she tossed her cookies in the parking lot after climbing out of the family mini-van.
Label Publicist Abe, who a few years back had been part of a wedding party at Disney World (yes, a Disney-themed wedding over looking Lake Bueno Vista and the spires of the Enchanted Castle) had been behind the scenes quite a bit and learned some of the Disney World staff lingo. Vomit incidents (and one would assume any other release of bodily fluids) on the premises are to be called “protein spills.” You call it “puke,” you get fired. Read about it here:
